And what does one do at such a residence? Great question. The weekend ensued plenty o’ dancing, singing, pony ridin’, and general fun-having. We spent a day at the ever-standing wall learning more about Germany’s previous standing separation, had a late-Karneval-costume party (I was a cow), and explored the wonderful Hundisburg. The weekend was also a welcoming of sorts, as it was our first chance to meet our “Newbies” (those who have started their exchanges in January). This wave of Newbies could not be better, and (somehow) our preexisting family managed to not scare them off back to their homelands!!! That is a noteworthy accomplishment if you ask me. It is super duper exciting to add new members to a family, and I cannot wait to get to know this wonderful new group of humans better.
